This is what results from the organic sector data elaborated by SINAB (National Information System on Organic Agriculture) and ISMEA (Institute of Services for the Agricultural Food Market).
If we only consider the hectares cultivated with biological procedures in Italy in 2017 compared to 2016, these have increased by 110 thousand hectares. This confirms that the organic sector is increasingly gaining ground in our country, in fact, at the end of 2017, 15.4% of the farm areas used for agricultural production used this method of agriculture. Consumers are more and more attentive to what they eat and are interested in organic, this is forming an important slice of the market to which many companies are turning, perhaps revolutionizing their culture techniques. + 9.6%: this is the data on consumption of organic products compared to 2016, a good result if we think that only a few years ago almost nobody knew this type of crop. Many companies have converted to organic, + 5.2% compared to 2016, and today there are almost 76,000 in Italy. All these data make our nation the greenest thinker in Europe, our products have good quality and few chemical residues and we just have to go on like this!
