In Piedmont hazelnut is said nisola and the plural is nisole and the first thing we did in the vegetable garden, was planting a double row of hazelnut Tonda Gentile delle Langhe as a kind of "fence" along its borders, so as to delimit the contours with a kind of "grove of hazelnuts."

This grove is not only beautiful and decorative but, as each element in a synergic vegetable garden, has at least double if not triple functions, first of all hazelnuts are a typical product of the Langhe, a variety of fine hazelnuts with a policy guideline, so these plants form the border, produce fruits, and when they have leaves, protect from wind, in fact these plants are medium-tall, in full maturity can reach 6/7 feet tall.

Thanks for the valuable help in planting these little plants to Fabrizio and Davide.
